Alexandra Wood

Alexandra Wood is a British violinist recognised for her work as an orchestral leader, chamber musician and soloist. She is Leader of the City of London Sinfonia and the Aurora Orchestra, and has appeared with many of the UK’s leading ensembles in repertoire ranging from Baroque and Classical music to major contemporary works.

Her playing is characterised by clarity, stylistic intelligence and a deep commitment to collaborative music-making. Alexandra has worked closely with composers, conductors and ensembles across the UK and internationally, and is widely respected for her versatility across historical and modern performance contexts.
